Generally speaking, what advice can you give 60+-year-old women about make-up - eyes, lips especially?

For more "seasoned" divas, I recommend that makeup colors stay on the softer side. As you age and lose moisture content, it will be important to use skincare that will keep your skin properly hydrated. Bobbi Brown Moisture Balm (tinted or untinted) or Kinerase moisturizers work very well. This is important because great skin lays the foundation for great makeup.

As I mentioned before about colors shy away from darker pigments which can drain color from the face. Great eyeshadow colors include pastels, taupes, and greys. Keep the eye liner as close to the lashes as possible to add subtle definition and enhance the base of the lashes. On crepey lids avoid intense shimmer shadows and frost. It will settle in the ceases and age your eye area. Frame your face with properly groomed brows (and remember, a fuller brow is a younger brow! Not necessarily Brooke Shields but nothing along the lines of Pamela Anderson either) and give your eyes "expression" with lashes.

Pucker up and keep the lips soft as well. It is time to forgo the super bright corals and pinks and move toward softer, creamier (no frost!) lipcolors. Bobbi Brown has an excellent array of colors to choose from. Some of my favorites include Brown, Sandwash Pink, Pale Pink, Rose, and Raisin.

As a finishing touch, help brighten up the face with a rosier, pinky toned blushes. Muddy browns and dark plums will drain color from the face. An application tip is to keep the blush on the apples of the cheeks and to avoid the "1980's racing stripe." Please be sure to blend, blend, and blend again to avoid clown cheeks!
