How do you feel about permanent eyeliner and brows?
Permanent cosmetics are not wise in my opinion. Sure, they may save you a few extra seconds in the morning while getting ready, but the risk involved is far greater than being able to walk out of the door faster.
From a makeup artist's perspective, permanent eyebrows almost always look too shiny and "illustrated." Permanent eyeliner may look a tad more believable but what happens if you change your mind? You have committed the rest of your life to a permanent ring around your eyes!
In all fairness I have see a few nice permanent brow jobs but EVERY time it looked as if the person had done a fabulous job of drawing them on versus being a tattoo. Even the "good" jobs didn't look completely natural.
You will also need to take into consideration the upkeep, because permanent cosmetics fade over time. Aside from the maintenance, I would advise spending a considerable amount of time researching your technician. Just like all makeup artist aren't created equal (I'm sure you've had at least one bad cosmetic counter makeover to prove my point!) all permanent cosmetic artists will not be the same.
Another thing to keep in mind is that we lose elasticity as we age, so the nice, sculpted arch you get today may not be as great a few years from now!
Last but not least, honestly ask yourself WHY you'd like to tattoo your makeup. Is it because you don't want to take the time to apply makeup everyday? Are you not confident in your ability to do it yourself? Do you feel that it would take the guesswork out of the application process? If you answered yes to any of these questions, find yourself a good makeup artist or brow specialist to learn how to perform these functions properly and ask for tips to increase your speed. There are products out there beyond what we find in general department and drug stores that can make your application a breeze. I've been in the business for almost 7 years and I'm still amazed. It will also give YOU more confidence knowing how to enhance an already beautiful you!
