Each night I fall to sleep - very soundly - right after going to bed. I sleep that way for about 20 minutes and then wake up and can't fall back to sleep for an hour or more. This happens nearly every night and it's annoying. I work full time and have to awaken early in the morning. I have tried going to bed later but can't stay awake much past 10 p.m. and that doesn't seem to work, anyway. I drink little or no caffeine. I would like to go to sleep and stay asleep. Thanks!

This could be more complicated than it looks. I would suggest a consult with a sleep specialist as this could be anything from early signs of menopause, seizure, GERD, sleep apnea, to a normal pattern.
