Angela - What can I do to look ten years younger, more vital, and confident? - Arlene

Well, Arlene, if I had the answer to this question (in ten easy steps or less!), I'd be rich and we'd all be young, vital, and have more confidence! Every health book and magazine has endless articles from experts in their various fields on the subject.

Eating right, getting plenty of exercise, a good night's sleep, avoiding sugar, tobacco and excessive alcohol - we've heard them all - are widely known to help us on the road to healthy living.

Stress can also be debilitating. Research reveals that almost 85 percent of all medical conditions are either caused by or made worse by stress. Actually, it's not the stress itself that harms us. It's our reaction to it ... emotional and/or physical, that causes the harm.

My solution for stress? Yoga. As a certified yoga instructor, I am a huge proponent of this technique for relaxation. The yoga poses help create balance in the body and complement the activities of our daily lives. We learn to let go of competition and expectations. Yoga is a process and a journey, not a destination.

But my real answer? Attitude! And here's mine: I AM ten years younger (mentally, anyway) than my biological age; I AM vital (to my husband, my children, my grandchildren); and I AM confident that what I do, can and will make a difference in women's lives.
