Boomer Bests
- Because You Deserve The Very Best
Futuro Wrist Support - www.futuro.com - Editor-in-Chief Nancy Nehlsen said, "When Boomerful.com received the Futuro wrist support as a sample to review, I must admit that I tossed it aside, thinking, 'Well, I hope and assume that I won't be testing that product soon!' It wasn't a week later that I fell, catching myself with my left hand, twisting my wrist painfully backward. So I ran for the Futuro wrist support and immediately put it on my painful wrist. Not only did it immobilize my wrist for the duration of its healing, but was comfortable and flexible to wear. I found it superior to other hard-plastic wrist supporters I had collected from the days of my kids' high school athletics. If you're a little clumsy, like me, it wouldn't hurt to keep one in the hall closet, just in case!"

Coffee and caffeine have recently emerged as beauty enhancers. Coffee is high in antioxidants an
d has real skin-firming capabilities. When you put it on your skin, it acts as an antioxidant, a diuretic and avasoconstrictor. Coffee- and caffeine-based products include these new Boomer Bests:
RevaleSkin CoffeeBerry Skin Care Products - www.revaleskin.com - Coffeeberries are high in antioxidants (with more antioxidants than pomegranates, blueberries and green tea!) and these products help to repair and rejuvenate damaged skin.

Palmer’s – www.etbrowne.com – It’s winter here in the Midwest, a season for snowmen, toboggan rides, hot toddies … and rough, dry skin. Fortunately, Palmer’s sent us samples of their three Therapeutic Lotion Formula skin creams and the staff members here at Boomerful.com love them! Assistant Editor Mark McLaughlin said, “My hands get so rough in the winter, they actually develop painful cracks that bleed, but thanks to Palmer’s Cocoa Butter, my hands are just fine.” In addition to Cocoa Butter, Palmer’s offers Shea Butter and Olive Butter, which is the personal favorite of Mary Kellenberger, New Products Editor. “It makes my hands feel so soft!” she said. Theresa Bowman, Boomerful.com Staff Writer, fights dry skin year-round and thinks it's one of the better lotions on the market – especially the Shea Butter variety. It not only softens her dry hands, but works without leaving a greasy film. Mark these fine skin creams as Boomer Bests!
ZingiberRX Joint & Muscle Cream – Mary Kellenberger, New Product Editor, says: “I like this product! I have a messed-up rotator cuff (along with the usual aging aches and pains) and I put this cream on my shoulder right before bedtime. By the time I make it through two pages of my latest book, the pain has usually subsided quite a bit.” The active ingredients in ZingiberRX Joint & Muscle Cream are derived from an herbal plant that has been used for medicinal purposes in Southeast Asia for centuries. The cream is non-staining, fast-absorbing, and non-greasy. Another member of the Boomerful.com staff, who experiences muscle pain, used the cream and she reports that it provided soothing relief for her, as well. The cream does have an earthy herbal aroma, so avoid using the cream before attending a fancy dinner party. But if you’re looking for pain relief after an arthritis flare-up or a day of muscular exertion, you’ll want to give this cream a try! You can get it online at www.myarthritisstore.com/products/zingiberrx
The Boomerful staff recently sampled Curves Cereal and Curves Bars, and we’re happy to say we all enjoyed these crunchy, tasty products. They not only satisfy a sweet tooth, but they’re packed with healthy ingredients and plenty of fiber, and their calorie counts aren't a concern for any of our dieting/heath conscious staff members. These two products from Curves received a big thumb’s-up from all of us! You’ll find Curves products in most supermarkets. Visit www.curvesfoods.com for more information.

Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover - I've touted my favorite
Lancome Definicils mascara before. I've
found Definicils to be the only mascara that will stay on through my
109th viewing of Old Yeller with the kids, spring allergies, and an application
of industrial solvents. It's a great mascara for watery eyes,
but how do you get it off? I've tried every product on the
market and the only one that cuts through this wonderful, long-lasting
mascara is Almay’s moisturizing eye makeup remover pads. I've
tried much more expensive eye makeup removers, but this one takes off
every crumb of Lancome’s concrete formula. And fortunately,
it's available at most drug stores.
Lancome's Brow Expert - I’ve whined about the
loss of my eyebrows so much, everyone knows I can’t leave the house
without first applying them. It can be annoying when you're
in a hurry and want to race out of the house without makeup. But
I won't even set foot in the garden sans my eyebrows. Lancome's
Brow Expert, a liquid brow color and groomer, is great for a quick eyebrow
application, and it keeps what eyebrows I still have in place. Like where
are those few hairs going anyway?
DREMU Pain Relief Oil - A reader sent me a sample
of her DREMU Pain Relief oil. I
routinely use a number of pain relief ointments – some with emu
oil in the formulation – and didn’t expect dramatic results. But
this one worked almost immediately to reduce my back pain. It's
all oil, so it doesn’t absorb well – but that makes it perfect
as a massage oil. I talked my husband into rubbing the oil into
my sore spots and voila! The odor is less intense than many other
pain relief rubs and it certainly works better than most I've used. It's
available at www.dremu.com/painrelief/
Zantac - I've read about Zantac as a pre-hangover remedy in quite a
few magazines, but wasn't a believer until our Christmas Party last
year. Pop one Zantac about an hour before you start to imbibe, and it
will definitely curb your symptoms.
